Today, for the first time in my life, I began to search for a therapist. Nothing is particularly the matter, but my friends have been tired of hearing about my various struggles (90% of which are romantic, the other 10% stem from TikTok) for years now, so this search is long overdue.
While searching for possible therapists, I had to email each candidate in order to introduce myself and tell them why I was reaching out.
It felt a bit awkward to craft this email (my first subject line, for reference, was “Looking for a therapist ! lol”), so I decided to brainstorm 5 other great subject lines if any of you happen to be in the same shoes as me1.
The 5 Best Subject Lines For Finding A Therapist:
I have secrets; you have ears. Let’s talk.
As part of my Spring Cleaning, I’d like to air my dirty laundry to you.
HELP ME (Get over my ex).
You. Me. Unpacking my deep-rooted issues. 1:00pm. Wear somethin’ nice 😏.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
If you are in the same shoes as me, by the way, here is the website that I used: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/therapists . It filters using factors such as what type of insurance you have, what specific issues you’re looking to address, and what you’re searching for in a therapist (age, gender, etc). It was as a process that, frankly, always daunted me, but this website made it fairly easy. And, just in case you haven’t heard it today; you are loved! By many people, I’m sure, but definitely by me because you read this post, something that I appreciate more than you realize. <3
As a therapist, let me tell you that my spam filter would likely not let me read that subjects... but I would love to answer such a call for help!
